The Oklahoma Native Plant Network (ONPN) is thrilled to invite you to our second annual Grower’s Workshop! This all-day event will bring together native plant enthusiasts, growers, and experts for a series of engaging and informative presentations tailored to growers of all scales.

We’ve assembled an outstanding lineup of experienced professionals who will share practical insights and proven strategies across a range of topics essential to native plant production and ecological horticulture.

Natasha Thomas-North
Growing Center Manager, Taylor Creek Restoration Nurseries (Baldwin, KS)
Natasha will discuss operating a large-scale, ecologically driven nursery. Taylor Creek Restoration Nurseries operates five facilities, employs over 100 staff, and works on restoration projects in 38 states. Their commitment to using locally sourced seed genotypes sets a national standard for restoration nursery practices.

Elia Woods
ONPN Co-Founder & Owner, Lia’s Garden (Oklahoma City, OK)
Elia will present on climate-friendly greenhouse design, highlighting three alternative heating systems: compost, climate batteries, and thermal mass. She’ll also showcase her DIY germination chambers and offer guidance on building your own low-energy propagation systems—ideal for growers from hobbyists to professionals.

Bill will share strategies for effective seed stratification and techniques to overcome challenging vernalization requirements for native species.
